~ ~ ~
There was something wrong and Buffy knew it. And yet, she didn't. Her
body was itching for battle, but she didn't know where to locate it. All day long
she kept fidgeting, so finally Willow asked what was up.
" Buffy...what is wrong?" she asked with an annoyed sigh. Buffy clenched
and unclenched her fists.
" I dunno, Will. Something is coming..I just..don't know what." Buffy crinkled
her brow.
" Giles?" Willow suggested.
" Yeah..I figured. You wanna come with?" Buffy questioned.
" Nah. I can't...lots of homework..which by the way, you should do too."
" I know, but you know..evil? It kind of gets in the way." Buffy gave her a
lopsided grin and loped down the hall toward her room. She gathered her
patrol gear and headed for Giles'. She couldn't help but take a swing by the
park. And much to her dismay, Spike decided to join her.
" Well, `allo luv." He drawled. Buffy didn't even acknowledge him.
" What? No greeting for your old pal Spike?" he asked. Buffy shushed him.
Spike gave her a questioning look, Buffy showed him a stake. He quickly got
the picture. She lead the way. They approached a lone vampire, lurking in the
shadows.
" It's not save to walk alone, you know." Buffy sneered. The vampire
emerged in her game-face.
" And why's that?" She asked.
" Well, you might get yourself `urt." Spike replied, coming up behind her.
The vampire spun around. Spike could smell the fear vibrating off her. Spike
gave her a left hook that sent her spinning to the ground. Buffy leaped on top of
her and pounded her face in.
"Uh..Slayer? I'm guessing this would be a good point to stake `er." Spike
called. Buffy looked up.
"Oh, right. Penned up energy." She shrugged. She pulled a stake out,
when the swollen vampire spoke.
" I have information you should know." she rasped. Buffy narrowed her
eyes.
" That would be?"
" You're going to him." she wheezed. Buffy's heart went up to her throat.
" Who?" Spike demanded standing beside Buffy.
" An...gelus." Buffy grabbed the vampire up by her hair. Her worst fear was
being spoken out by this vampire.
" When?" Buffy grounded out.
" I don't know..." she quivered. Spike loosened Buffy's grip on the demon.
And heaved the vampire to a standing postion. He then, back-handed her.
" What do you know?" he snarled. The vampire started to shake.
" You will be brought to him and die." Buffy punched her in the stomach.
The vampire flew backwards. Buffy's chest started to heave.
" Tell us the truth..before you fit into an ashtray." Buffy growled. The vampire
got up.
" That's all I heard." Buffy pounced on her and snapped her neck.
" Well, I guess we won't be getting anymore information for `er." Spike
snickered. Suddenly Buffy started to moan.
"Bloody hell...Slayer..what's wrong?" he asked. She started to scream.
Spike raced to her side. Abruptly Spike's head felt as if he was being beaten in
by a hammer. He grabbed his head. His legs felt like they were broken. He fell
adjacent to Buffy. He looked at Buffy and couldn't see her anymore. She had
just..disappeared. He felt himself flying and he landed with thud.
" Ooooohh." someone groaned. Spike pried his eyes open. Buffy lay in front
of him. Her body screamed at her to get up, but it hurt too much. Spike sat up,
very slowly.
" Bloody hell..." he muttered. His eyes locked with a demon a few feet away.
" Welcome to my world." it grinned.
