        "So Will should I ask Buffy to go out with me to
the Frat party tonite?I think our relationship is really starting to
bloom I think we really are soulmates or the close things to them."
Riley had met up With Willow on her walk back to campus after leaving
Giles's house and now she was barely even listening to him."Don't get me
wrong I like him and all but he is a little bit of wuss and boring." She
thought to herself as he went on about Buffy. "So do you agree with
me?"Riley asked her. "Huh?" was her reply.Her thoughts kept her from
paying attention to his mindless chatter and now she had no idea about
what he was talking about. "I'm sorry Riley what were you talking
about?"God she wished he would go away.With a sigh Riley repeated his
question. "I said everything is going so good between Buffy and I.I
think that we are soulmates and that I am the only love worthy
relationship,Or the only guy Buffy has ever loved like she loves me.We
have something special.Out of all the high school boys she has ever been
involved with I am the only mature one she has ever dated or been in
love with I bet.Some people never meet their other halve and together I
believe we are whole.I'm her soulmate.Well I highly believe she loves
me.What do you think?" After hearing all this Willow couldn't help but
laugh,Soulmates?! First off she didn't even think that Buffy truly even
liked Riley, so she was positive that Buffy was no where near even
thinking about considering loving him.Sadly everyone knew the truth even
Buffy, her "other half" rested in LA along with her heart,mind,and
soul.Angel was the other part of Buffy.Her soulmate.How could Riley
think any of this crap he was saying is the truth?! With each day of
encounter Willow was beginning to dislike him more and more.
"Willow! are you with me at all?" With an impatient sigh Riley stood
facing her for an answer.Willow looked up at the sky,it was twilight now
and she was trying hard to suppress the evil thoughts creeping into her
head telling her to take Riley to the cemetery and leave him there for a
newbie vamp.With a sigh Willow looked at Riley. "Well I think that your
going way to fast and to slow down ,and just take the relationship thing
between you two just on the "second date" level.I'm not so sure if
Buffy's feelings have reasonably registered for you yet." "there"
thought Willow "I told him nicely to back off because if Angel ever
decides "I can't take it anymore I need Buffy," Riley will be dropped in
a milli-second for Angel."
With a confused look on his face Riley Looked Willow in the eyes. "What
would ever make you say something like that?" That stupid reply just got
Willow a little more annoyed ."God dense much?!" She thought.
"Gee Riley I don't know."
"Well I don't know either.We are in love. Are you going to your dorm
because I want to see Buffy."
With a shake of her head Willow replied, "I don't think that's a smart
idea.She hasn't been feeling all that great so I think that you should
just leave her alone." Riley Had a little grin on his face."Well all the
better for me to see her,I'll make her feel better,Just seeing me will
cheer her up." Willow sighed and brushed the hair out of her face.."I
doubt that." Willow thought to herself can't take this anymore ,I'm
going to bring him to Spike and let him torcher him.,but i don't see how
good that will do if there is a chip in his head from who knows where.
"Willow are you ok you seem annoyed or something." "Oh I'm fine I'm just
on the verge of killing you" Willow said under her breath. After an
agitated sigh from Willow she shook her head."No, I"m just tired that's
all." "you stupid moron"she thought."Hell I'll take the chip out of
Spike's head just so he'll get rid of you.I wonder if that's considered
murdered?"she thought chuckling to herself. "I can't wait till Buffy
sees me."Riley proclaimed as Willow fiddled with the doorknob.
"Company Buffy" Willow grumbled as she walked in. The small room was
dimly lit up by the lamp on Willow's night table and On the opposite bed
a sleeping Buffy laid curled up around Mr.Gordo. "Aww my baby is
sleeping with her stuffed pig."Riley told Willow matter of factly.
Willow shook her head .
"like I cant see for myself you dumb ass" she grumbled under her breath.
"I know.You better leave than." Willow told him hopefully that he would
leave,But she was to late he was already standing over Buffy stroking
her cheek and whispering something that sounded like "Wake up Honey your
love is here".
In her sleep Buffy rolled over on her side. Just as Willow was about to
protest,and tell Riley to leave her alone,Buffy said something. "Angel?"
Through the quietness of the room and Riley's whispering,Willow was
stunned. Through her haze of slumber,Buffy was unknowingly calling out
for Angel her love in front of her so called boyfriend. "Angel?yea baby
your angel is here I wont leave you." was Riley's reply to her outburst.
"What?!He is so dense." Willow thought.
"Angel..Angel I love you."Buffy spoke again unknowing that her Angel was
in LA or on the way to Sunnydale,and That that was Riley by her side.
"Buffy.Buffy wake up.Come on." Despise Riley's attempts of waking her
up,Buffy did not stir.
Willow put her keys and jacket down and went to Buffy's side. "Come on
Buff.Wake up."
With a stir Her eyes fluttered open to Willow's face and oh yay Riley's.
"Oh Hi guys.Why are you two standing over me. am I drooling or
something? Buffy sat up in a stupor.
"Buff you were napping and Riley decide to wake you up."Willow shot
Riley a dirty look and sat down on her bed taking out a book."Maybe he
would catch on and leave" Willow told herself,But to no avail he stayed
and got curious.
After playing with the fringe on Buffy's blanket,Riley looked her in the
eye and asked "Who is Angel?"
Surprised Buffy asked "What?"
"Oh my God how does he know abut Angel?was I sleep talking?"she asked
herself.
With the closing of Willow's bedside drawer, she looked at Riley and
sighed,
"Angel was Buffy's cherished pet dog.She was very attached to him."With
a clearing of her throat she continued " He would always guard and
protect her making sure no harm would come to her,He had an undying
devotion to Buffy and loved her endlessly." Hearing the words coming
from her best friends mouth,Buffy began to tear up thinking just how
true the words were,well all except the dog part. Riley looked at Willow
with questioning eyes,"So what happened?" Before Buffy could say
anything Willow continued,"Buffy's Father took him to LA end he ran away
so now he is somewhere in LA.I can guarantee though,that he will come
back to her."Willow said with a simile. Willow thought to herself "Jeez
this is all true." Seeing the pain and Love in her eyes Riley asked
Buffy,"Well that's sad and all but it's just a dog you can replace
it,don't get so upset." After hearing these words from Riley,It dawned
on her,"I could Never replace Angel!Riley amy think we're talking about
a dog but We're talking about my heart," Angel could never be
replaced,but with Riley Buffy was just filling Angel's request for her
to have a normal life.She didn't want any of it,not the normal life nor
Riley.Buffy wasn't Normal so Why should she have a normal life? With
Riley being here It was as if Buffy was trying to replace Angel and she
knew she could never.She wanted and need Angel not Riley.She knew what
she had to do.
